"LSVT BIG trains people with Parkinson disease (PD) to use their body more normally. People living with PD or other neurological conditions often move differently, with gestures and actions that become smaller and slower. They may have trouble with getting around, getting dressed and with other activities of daily living. LSVT BIG effectively trains improved movements for any activity, whether “small motor” tasks like buttoning a shirt or “large motor” tasks like getting up from sofa or chair or maintaining balance while walking. The treatment improves walking, self-care and other tasks by helping people “recalibrate” how they perceive their movements with what others actually see. It also teaches them how and when to apply extra effort to produce bigger motions – more like the movements of everyone around them." - LSVT Global
"Infrared video goggles are able to improve patient care with accurate assessment and treatment of vertigo, dizziness, and feelings of imbalance. Invisible infrared lights can illuminate the eyes of a patient suffering from vertigo and assist in the differential diagnosis between central and peripheral vestibular disorders. Learn more how our Infrared Video Goggles can help a vestibular rehabilitation researcher or clinician diagnose and review treatment options for patients suffering from vertigo." - Vesibular First
"The Solo-Step Overhead Track And Harness System consists of a high-performance, overhead aluminum track and trolley mounted to the ceiling. An attached harness protects patients from falling, which helps instill confidence.
Solo-Step provides support for a patient during all aspects of physical therapy, including sit-to-stand, walking therapy, balance training and climbing stairs." Solo Step
Vestibular rehabilitation therapy and Nintendo Wii balance board training both improve postural control in bilateral vestibulopathy. The Nintendo "Wii" is a video-gaming device that has been used as an adjunct to vestibular rehabilitation therapy. The "Wii" is very well suited to rehabilitation because rather than interacting with a computer keyboard or "mouse", users wave around a "Wii-mote" which is shown on the TV as something actually moving - -such as a tennis racket, etc. The "Wii-fit" program incorporates a balance board that can be used for training.
